What amp is this?
This amp came in a joblot and I'm not sure what band it was intended for. I tried it on 2 meters but it only gave around 0.5 watt amplification. Can anyone tell by looking at it or am I expecting too much from you lol.

He'll charge you through the nose for a poorly photostatted manual, well it did for a transverter for me.

D Found it listed under TA2S1 in a Spectrum Communications ad in a 1990's RadCom. 2.5W in 25W out on 2m. Ā£55 built and boxed.

Re: What amp is this?
It's a 30W 144MHz linear amplifier, an early one. Low power out, first thing to check is that scuzzy looking relay that has no cover, contacts could probably do with a squirt of switch cleaner. Check the bias control is turning the power transistor on, 1988? Possible dry joints and if you are getting out less than you are putting in the power device could be banjaxed.

Re: What amp is this?
When did they change the allowance of 10watts to 30 for the FL class.

They have not, as far as I am aware. Why should you think they have?

How the chuff do you know he wasn't testing it in to a dummy load???
