Anyone tried a 4meter moxen?aquired a 4m fm rig and wondered if the moxen is suitible for fm ES openings or is it better to use a vertical?

No matter for Es, polarization randomly changes through the Es cloud(s).

Use my half wave vertical as a sloper, works a treat.

With nosey nickers next door, I may go for a 5/8 over 5/8 multiple, as the 5/8 worked
equally well as a sloper.

If all your going to use is FM I'd stick to the vertical and its omni pattern.

Often ES are very strong and randomly polarised.

Most tropo range, FM only, stations will be vertically polarised.

Thanks for all replies,i will go down the vertical route as it will do for local contacts aswel as ES.Appreciate the replies thanks chaps.
