Post D-Star dead duck??
Well after finely sorting the radio out and connecting to the local repeater GB7SF in Sheffield I'm beginning to think its a dead duck. I have spoken to one local on the D-Star repeater and that's it, I have called out on all the reflectors without not one person coming back to me. All I get is the local repeater telling me link connected. So does anyone use it or is it dead in the water?

You are being connected to REF001A not REF001C as your link should be "REF001CL" Shouting on 1A will get you nowhere.

UR-REF001CL
RPT1-(your local repeater so the warring ton one would be GB7WC BL) note blank space in the 6th position and B being 70cm (c is 2m)
RPT2-(same as above but in the 7th position put G for gateway)
MY-put your callsign here/4 digit like 7100
Press ptt and if you hear system linked or the likes you are in, put UR back to cqcqcq or it will tell you everytime you key up you are linked, give a call out(sometimes it is quiet) dont forget the minus 9 meg split for uhf and the 600kh split for 2m
If you have a dvap/dvmega your callsign replaces the repeater in RPT1 and RPT2

The L in the 8th position is for link
To unlink from the reflector/repeater, in UR have the first 7th spaces blank and U in the 8th position
When you press the ptt it will tell you it is unlinked, then put it back to cqcqcq then you can use the repeater for local use

At least the person who replied before you has a few grey cells.

People like you stop the hobby advancing, bet you climb back in your shell.
