So i have this hand-held anD even after reading the manual twice cant connect to my local repeater GB7SF. First lets see if i'm doing it right. You dont have a tone burst for D-Star right? I have put in my callsign and the callsign GB7SF into the radio and also put in the correct frequency. Now i think you have to register to the repeater so i've sent my callsign to the keeper. Any other info please guys
thanks
andy

The manual for the ic91 is a total joke and might as well stayed in Japanese
Once you get used to it they are an easy radio to use and still a good one too

Looked every where cant find no dummys guide unless you pay 13 dollars to someone, and read the manual three times over, the keeper m1ers at GB7SF doesn't offer any help to connect to the repeater no wonder people keep telling me d-star died a death as its so hard to connect and use.

I would buy a dvmega and a rasp pi if i were you and have your own mini repeater in your house
Dstar repeaters are a bit empty most of the time and dstar without a dvap/dvmega etc is a waste of time (except simplex dstar)
Dont know if you have one of these already, but trust me when i say this is the best way to go about it
I can connect to all the reflectors/repeaters wordwide sitting on the couch with my id51 handie using 100mw

If you have not been registered on the dstar network you wont be able to TX through the gateway
Make sure you have the 9 meg split the right way around (minus for TX)

Post Re: Icom IC-E91
gb7sf in Sheffield transmits on 145.1375 and receives on 145.7375 (minus 600)
And on 70cm it is minus 9mhz for TX, so an example being warringtom repeater (GB7WC) you transmit on 439.4875 and recieve
on 430.4875 (minus 9 meg)
When you tx the repeater should ping back to you and gb7sf should scroll across the screen
Hope that helps
Paddy

In your put CQCQCQ
In rpt1 put GB7SF C (note c in the 8th position and meaning 2m band)
In rpt2 put GB7SF G (G in the 8th position for gateway)
In my or ur put your callsign
Make sure the repeater in rpt 1 and 2 is 5 spaces long, and C (2m) or B (70cm) is in the 8th space on rpt1
Put G in the 8th space on rpt2
