Post 6mtrs RTTY
Having never worked anyone on that band / mode. I attempted to get a contact or two on 6mtrs RTTY before the last contest without success.

As it is relatively calm in IO84jx tonight, I will crank the beam up after dinner and a shower and t/x on 50.600 commencing as close to 19:00hrs as possible, but definitely not before that time.

Beam will be turned in all directions, and I will go qrt at 19:30hrs if nothing heard.

No idea what conditions will be like, but willing to give it a try.

Can't help here.
No equipment in the pub.

You can, probably, drum up some interest on KST.

Cheers

Tony

No problem Tony, I should have been in the pub too, Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard caused me mega problems, had to affix Genius wired versions and start the pc in "Safe Mode", still trying to get the show on the road, apologies to anyone who did take time out to monitor.

Post Re: 6mtrs RTTY
Thanks all, and again, sorry if I messed anyone around.
Have spent my lunch time getting my pc back on the road, it is brand new and built by DTec Computers a well and trusted establishment in Carlisle.
Although I run Kaspersky, I decided to download "Rapport" a couple of days ago, and when I switched on last night and loaded MixW it all went pear shaped, and I actually could only shut down using the on "OFF" switch, tried the "System Repair" without success and on arriving back home at lunch time I did the "System Restore" thingy!
This has rolled the system back to when "Rapport" was installed and cancelled it out, and all appears to be working well???
Now using a Genius wired mouse and keyboard as opposed to the previous Microsoft wireless kit which I originally blamed for the problem.
OK on the RTTY frequencies, will give them a go, I could hear RTTY being sent on 50.600 last night, but couldn't t/x or even read the incoming text at the time, sorry to all concerned.
One round of Zuma now and then back to work.

Hello Andy, just read your post.
I did read that the preferred frequency is 50.600, another station suggested otherwise and I am not sure where I should be not to upset anyone.
Will try tomorrow night at 19:00hrs provided that the weather is reasonably calm if that would be ok?

The band plan, updated Jan 2014, indicates 50.600.
It seems to have been that for some years.
What alternative have you seen suggested?

Cheers

Tony

Hello Tony,

Paul suggested the above.

That's interesting as the pre 2012 Band Plans show that to be a PSK31 frequency.
PSK31 has now moved.

RTTY, on 50.600, is shown as FSK.
Are you using that, or AFSK?
Although, I suppose, AFSK, using SSB, is effectively FSK!

I've not used RTTY since my days with a Creed 7B. :)
Well, I tried once but it wasn't the same without the noise, and smell of the oil.

Cheers

Tony

OK, 50.600 FSK RTTY it is.
Running RTTY from now until 17:00hrs, all appears to be working tonight.
Will be back on just after 17:30hrs for a short spell and back again at 19:00hrs when on air time is unlimited..

Hello Tony,

Off to the dinner table, then a computer swap, I think that the USB ports on my new desktop are the cause of the problems.

Hope to make the swap and get back on after dinner.
