he solved it by getting me to sort it for him, he is only a 2e after all, and he is a slice short of a full loaf,

Re: dv-mega dr mode on my id5100e
My DV Mega has just arrived and I have already come to a dead stop! I do not know how to find its IP address so that I can VNC into it ... it doesn't seem to be attaching to my Wifi (which is secured in any case with WPA2) so what do I do next? I tried plugging an ethernet cable in to the Pi but it seems that the port was not active. If I could telnet into the Pi, then I could at least have look and see what is what ....
Any ideas?
David

Re: dv-mega dr mode on my id5100e
Attach the Ethernet and then either go into your router and find the assigned ip or download an ip scanner and find it that way.
Once you have the ip vnc into the pi and run the wifi tool on the desktop and scan for your wireless network.
Add it and enter your network password and it should connect ok.
