Post SDR-IQ
Guys,

I wish to dip my toe into SDR with a view to adding a Panadaptor to my HF rig.
I'm sure this has already been covered somewhere??

Specifically I would appreciate any feedback on software recommendations for an SDR-IQ unit.

I came across SDR-Radio but apparently it uses Omni-rig for control. I use Logger32 for my normal activities & rig control so not sure how to cope with adding Omni-rig into the mix??

Appreciate any help,

Paul

Post Re: SDR-IQ
Hi Paul
I am using a SDR-IQ at the moment with the FT-2000 and IF-2000 board
My preferred software is Spectravue as once set up correctly is by far the best Panadaptor out there very basic compared to Simons SDR-Consul but a much better Panadaptor which is my main reason for SDR use
I use this with a program called Eltima shared serial ports which allows me to share my cat control with any other software so in my case I use com 18 for connection of the FT-2000 and SDR-IQ I then share com 18 and any other cat software set to com 18 will follow I use Mixw for digimodes and logging and they all track each other fine
The Eltima software cost about £50 a few years ago so no idea f a price now but it was money well spent.
If you ask around someone may know of a free software that does the same If I can help any further just PM me
rgds Ian

For my SDR's I use Com0Com, it too adds virtual ports but can be downloaded free.

I've bought a softrock II kit which you can get a crystal for your rigs IF and make a panadaptor that way. Cheap at £21, but I can't comment yet as I can't see the SMD's to solder them without new glasses!
