21 ft alloy scaffold pole antenna
How would I make a vertical antenna from a 21 foot alloy scaffold pole. I got a few of these things stuck up around the garden. must be something I can do with one for a vertical. Anybody else had the same idea !!!.

Re: 21 ft alloy scaffold pole antenna
Dirty and ugly option has to be an unun maybe a 9:1 (dependent on planned / hoped bands) a coax feed and some ground mounted radials. Unless of course you want to cut it as a mono band vertical. Mount the pole in a wooden or other non metallic base.
In reality a CB vertical like a silver rod would be easier to adapt and mount. But the scaffold pole would look more like a flag pole so may attract less glances especially if it holds a flag.

Re: 21 ft alloy scaffold pole antenna
I have one strapped to a wooden pergola, its got a cobweb on the top at the moment. I also have a palstar tuner doing nothing. I was wondering if anybody had already built a vertical using a standard 21 ft pole, and made it work. If so how did they do it. Keep the ideas coming though, it must be possible.

Re: 21 ft alloy scaffold pole antenna
shunt feed the pole & lots of radials dependent on the operating freq required.
