6m Today
Yesterday I found the opening quite by chance.
If anyone notices the band opening, or finds conditions good to a certain area, maybe they could take a few seconds to post it here, so we can all share the opening.
Of course I will do the same.

Re: 6m Today
Steve If you want to catch openings and see the path you have then download and install this. http://g7rau.demon.co.uk/default.aspx?menu=5000#mainappThe software takes cluster spots and plots them on a map,it then shows you the path you have based on the spot that's been put on the cluster by whoever has worked the DX. Its what DX maps is based on,and can give you a great early warning about likely paths from your QTH. Just make sure in user details you put in your locator and callsign before you post to the cluster or it will post spots as if they were from IO90

Re: 6m Today
Usually in the evenings I don't have much time, so I walk past the machine and refresh this site, the other sites/programmes are great, and I use some at the weekends, mainly on HF for PSK31.
It is also nice to see peoples personal comments like yesterday.

Re: 6m Today
Or you could just look at KST! Just leave it up on the screen and the red lines will be a dead give-away. Just a thought, why is this in the General thread, rather than the more appropriate one? Similarly the HF related postings. There was a request for a 1296 contact, a while ago. If it had been in the correct section I'd have seen it fairly quickly, rather than 6hrs later. Mind you, KST would have been a good idea then, as well. The site owners have done what people requested, and sectionalised the threads, only for them to be ignored. Very odd. It must be a pain moving them. Cheers Tony

Re: 6m Today
Im cheesed with 6m. Hardly anything this far north so far. I was (of course) out last night, just managed a 25 second burst opening to work HA0HO on CW before his signal vanished again at around 17:30. But essentially not a lot so far this season during non work times :(

Re: 6m Today
I'm surprised you didn't hear anything last night Terry, I worked a few whilst out in the car, however I'm not collecting squares, rather I'm collecting prefixes, so didn't work as many as I could due to a number of stations with the same prefix. I was using a 1/4WL whip on the roof of the car, I even worked a quite rare one, G7TPL/M

I didn't have much time but the bit I did was after 1950 local. Just my second ES contact, of the season, on 4M, despite loads of OIRT over the last few weeks. Cheers Tony

I heard calls for about 10 minutes after I posted, and after 15 minutes heard nothing again.

Re: 6m Today
Terry do you have a smart phone? If so then add DX maps to your bookmarks, I check it out throughout the day to see whether it's worth jumping in the car and trying to work some DX. More often than not you'll just be pee'd of looking at Central Europe getting all the action, then a short while later looking at the sports for G4RRA or GW8ASD, and like a crouching Tiger you'll be on springs ready to pounce as you see the spots for G7DIE/M
