We will be about Simon,we are running a bigger station on 432Mhz this year so hopefully it will all work.

If conditions are flat, and it looks like they are going to be flat as a pancake, you are going to be in the right place ;)

I shall have a cooked breakfast, walk into the heated shack and make a few contacts on both bands :)
GB3ANG is currently a good signal on 432MHz around 539 at 510km with little QSB. On 144MHz it is much louder.
See everyone over the weekend.

Good to work you.
You were a good strong signal, on both bands, despite the 333km. :D
I heard you throughout the 6 hr period I was on.

Conditions were very flat, on 70cm, with poor UK activity.
There was no sign of any DX here with ever reliable F8BRK, IN99VF(470km) the most distant.
A total of 28 contacts.

2M was really infuriating.
Although UK activity was low there were tantalising bursts of signal from the continent.
Annoyingly, most were just that bit too weak to work. :banghead:
Some were strong, F8BFK (again :) ), ON4KHG, OR7B/P, but DF0MU was only just 59, rather than their usually very strong signal.
50 contacts and DL0LN, JO31QX, 715km as ODX

I hope things are better for Tuesday night.

Cheers

Tony

Well what can I say ...conditions were dire down in the West Country.

Looks like congrats are in order for your team Simon,Ive no idea how G5B did but I reckon you have beaten us.

Best DX for us was F1MOZ @ around 850kms,we worked a few DLs on 432Mhz but that was about it,conditions just seemed to get worse and worse at one point we actually lost the PI7CIS beacon and GB3VHF was down to 539 !

We put the antennas up in sunshine and took them down in heavy rain and gusty winds, this was another one to forget for us !

Oh well...there's always next year

Below a piccy of the antennas taken on the Saturday..by Sunday they would have been hidden by the rain ;)

Hi Paul and Tony...
Good to work you over the weekend.......
Wow , it was dry setting up and taking down but the field was like a swamp
Conditions, we thought it was a 3.00pm start because we couldn't hear anything.
Everything worked well and the 432 station has been revamped and had no issues.
On the day its going to be down to the qualities of the logs, were not jumping up and down yet (lol),
qsb was ridiculous at times but we had a cracking weekend and glad to be on dry land .

Till next year Simon de MW0TBI (M0MDG/P)

It was certainly fun Simon,Im glad it stayed dry for you,I told Smash he was a lucky sod,not only did you beat us but you got to take it all down in dry weather.

As for the contest,we are pinning our hopes on lots of people getting M0MCG/P and M0MDG/P confused in the log together with G5B forgetting to enter :)

But seriously, you were going pretty well , you had caught us up by Sunday morning and were around 20 in front by contest end.

We had various problems on 432Mhz but 144Mhz ran fine, conditions were just awful with less than 10 DLs in the log on 144Mhz.

I bet that field was a swamp,I remember G0MJWs car vanishing down that small incline towards the road and us having to drag it out with a landy !

See you during the next one,we left one of the 144Mhz systems up so we could be around in the UKAC on Tuesday ,if you are about it would be good to exchange points

Good fun Paul 'RRA. I was active in the 6-hour S.O. section. Think I've done quite well. GD8EXI has clearly won it but
I reckon Im hanging on to 2nd place overall although Im in 4th place on 144MHz and 5th place on 432MHz.
Conditions were pretty abysmal - best DX on 2M was 677km and on 70cm was 451km. Typical poor March tropo!

80M CC data session tonight, UKAC on Tuesday, Commonwealth (BERU) on Saturday/Sunday and 2nd 70MHz cumulative also on Sunday.
