I've never come across a single band, 23cm, vertically polarised antenna.

All the operating I do is horizontally polarised SSB but I'm aware there are a couple of people who use FM.
I think they belong to the Bolton Club so that should be your first port of call.

The omni directional antennas G6NHG makes are Alford slots, which are horizontally polarised.

If you are contemplating 23cm, I'd encourage you to go for SSB, and horizontal polarisation, where there's a chance of DX.
I'm always around if you want any tests, and there are several people active local to you.
I assume you have another callsign, as you obviously can't use M6UZK, on 23cm.

Cheers

Tony

I bought a small three band co-linear, 2, 70, 23, and found the performance on 23 cms was at best average!
As I only bought the antenna for 23, I constructed a co-axial co-linear for 23 cms, and used the tri band white stick to build it in!
It outperformed the very compramised tri band antenna!
Heres a couple of designs, the one I opted for was the first one where the guy uses brass tube slipped over the inner core stripped out of a co-ax cable, instead of just using the co-ax outer braid.
I found cutting acurate sleeve lengths far easier with solid tube, than attempting an accurate "braid" trim!

Best of luck, and good to see the positive attitude in getting yourself gear up for a new challenge.
I've done pretty well, on 23cm, over the last few years, although equipment failure put a damper on things the last few months.
Still managed over 1,000km, with 10W. :D

It's worth looking here http://www.microwavers.org/ for information on the higher bands.

Cheers

Tony

I remember the first time I saw a similar offering Tony, I remarked "Thats a funny looking vertical", the guy replied....."Its even funnier than you think, its a funny looking horizontal"! :D
