 MYDEL CG3000
Took delivery of one of these today. Very impressed with how it tuned my doublet (feeder strapped together) against an earth of about 100 odd radials. Every band from 160-10 in a fraction of a second! This is going to be used with an inverted L with 10 meter roach pole for low band DX. Be interested to see what can be worked from this noisy environment!

Be interested to see what can be worked from this noisy environment! Well I'm having some fun with this! Whilst it works quite well, it has a memory which is volatile and will retain the tune combination if you switch antennas, so do be aware if you buy one, get the control box with the reset button, or simply turn the power off for a minute or you may find yourself operating at an uncomfortably high SWR. Worth the money? Definitely! Tuned my roach pole up no problem on 1.8, 3.5, 7.0 and 10 (with 10m wire running up side of pole). Tuned my 120 foot sloper on topband, and got me some very favourable signal reports. It does tune the higher bands too (20m up) effectively but I probably won't be using there as I have a yagi.

 Re: MYDEL CG3000
mines a inv L, abt 23m long, with the central heating system as a earth. Tunes everywhere in less that 1 second. you would just have to plug it in and adjust. Have a look here: http://g8jnj.webs.com/usingautotuners.htmI have a Morse key permanently pluged in, so change freq, hit the key, start TX. I see that LDG are selling a similar ATU ? http://www.ldgelectronics.com/c/252/products/20/69/1Regards G4HTZ wrote: Was considering ordering a sg230 until I saw these posts

 Re: MYDEL CG3000
As the Mydel CG-3000R and the MFJ-926B are the exact same tuner just badged different and both are sold by ML&S for the exact same price which would be the best to go for? I've heard MFJ have excellent warranty support but know nothing of Mydel.

How would it fair matching a inveted L with 50ft vertical 160ft horizontal ....anyone any experience of matching long wires of around 200ft Thanks for that. It explains why some days my CG3000 will tune an inverted L or sloper and the next day it won't. My ground consists of around 120 buried radials, but the earth is absolutely sodden wet some days. Also my use of thin wire (so the neighbours can't spot it) may present to hi a Q on 160 and 80, Back to the drawing board! Not used one of these things before so still learning.
