What band?
Horizontal / vertical?
Apex up / Apex down?
Feed arrangement? (quarter-wave 75 Ohm stub?)

I can understand someone looking for a file for something like a cobweb with lots of wires, just to save the tedious job of entering them all, but would have thought that something simple would have been worth entering from scratch just to see how it is done, would make playing with it much easier knowing how to edit it. Plus knowing what you want, you can get the basics to suit.

I would send a file if I had one, but as I use 4NEC2, I have an idea the files are different. But if it can open the 4NEC2 files, then download it and there are lots of samples included.

I was sent an Eznec model of a car which opened without problem in 4NEC2, I haven't tried it the other way round, but as they are both NEC2 based (obviously excluding the NEC5 version) it probably does work both ways.

Sorry should have given more infos here we go.
For 10m band horizontal apex down alum25/20/16/12mm/flexweave across top feed arrangement direct 50ohm to gamma rod. Elements isolated from boom I started optimising a model on mmana-gal but iam no expert it was coming out ok but the boom was short and I couldn't find where to extend it on there to maximize the gain/f/b .I find eznec a little more user friendly but iam still learning eznec if I had a file for eznec then I could play around with it.

Now I really am confused: gain, f/b, gamma-match ..... are you talking about a beam? You originally said "Delta loop".

If it's a beam, how many elements? And what lengths at those different diameters are you planning?

It's not too difficult to do if you have a file in MMANA already, I guess the fwd element will contain three seperate wires which will have a linear position, probably X2, from the Z axis.

If you click on the wires of the fwd element, in the antenna view screen, the tab on the right will identify which wire number it is, you can edit the wire in that screen if you double click on the wire, it will then open up the wire definition table and identify which wire number you are editing, change the X2 value of the wire and see what happens, if 'keep connected' is checked on the bottom left of the screen it may move all wires together, however I've not played with a delta before so I'm only guessing it will.

If you keep a record of what you did, it's easy to undo, or if you completely screw it up, don't save the changes and releoad the file, if what you are doing seems to be working, then save the work at each stage under a different file name, that way yoou'll be able to review any changes you make, run the model again and see if what you did was of benefit.

HTH ;)

Ha ha ha yes got it had to click on each wire individually then move X2 size up the drop down scale ok. Thanks for that that's my leson for today lol will carry on optimizing see how it comes out may come back to you on the 50ohms settings just to see if I have them right.

I've not used this, but it may be of some use to you if you like to swap between programs:

NEC-2 for MMANA http://www.qsl.net/ua3avr/

If you're using the free version of Eznec then the delta loop would probably exceed the 20 segment limit, not such a problem in 4NEC2

Don't need to do that in EZNEC if you have a design already for frequency X and want to change it for frequency Y. Just change the frequency to frequency Y and check the "rescale" box.
