I have big problems with local noise qrn, the best antenna I have found by far is a magnetic loop
it receives very well and TX is very similar to a dipole at 30ft and the loop can be mounted 6ft aver ground
I have mine at 18ft and horizontal it performs fantastic and the noise is almost gone
If I switch to a dipole the noise is unbearable well worth a try I have the MFJ loop for 30m to 10m

Id add my agreement to Ian on the mag loops. They work great RX is a pleasure on them. Id also suggest a Cobwebb. 8ft square and very quiet on RX too.

A small loop or a cobweb are good suggestions.

The loop would give you 30m in addition to 20m thru 10m, and if you can rotate it you might be able to null local interference. But a commercial loop will be more expensive than a cobweb, and you will need to re-tune it when you shift frequency significantly.

In such a "challenging" situation I think I'd want to trial any antenna before parting with a lot of cash!
