Post Alpha J-Pole Sr Antenna - any operators use this?
Hi,

I'm in the position whereby I've got small garden in compact housing estate. I don't want to upset the neighbours by creating an antenna farm and have been trying to find information from actual users of this antenna >> Alpha J-Pole Sr Antenna https://moonrakeronline.com/alpha-anten ... ft-antenna

Has anyone used this antenna?

Any pros / cons?

regards Scott MM6SNT

( ps: currently have an inverted L wire antenna up using a support at bottom of garden, which works ok )

Scott, that is very expensive. There are at least two members of this forum who make & sell end-fed wire antennas for HF coverage, and they are considerably cheaper than the Alpha one.

Yes that was my first thoughts too ( get an endfed wire antenna - but I'm using one right now attached to a CG3000 auto tuner at bottom of my garden ) . but from what I read the J-pole antennas have a second wire running down the length of the main wire from the balun so it's not just a bog standard length of wire. This is why I'd rather hear from someone that may have one or used one to see if was worth spending the extra money.
It's a minefield trying to spend wisely and get the best. Lost count of the money I've spent so far. No doubt the station manager could tell me to the penny haha.

Thanks for your reply though. Every comment taken on board as I'm always learning

regards Scott
