No not that type of modelling

Can one of the kind OM's, model a 10m 3 ele cubical quad with both 1.5mm aluminium welding wire and also flexweave.

Id like to know the difference that using either would have on the total length of wire for each element.

Cheers

What are the dimensions?

Is the driven element in the middle of the boom?

Yes it is but it can also be adjusted, as can all the other parameters.

From experience, solid aluminium wire will fail quite quickly unless you are in a wind free area.

HyGain used to supply a stranded aluminium wire that lasted a bit longer, but failed when used near the coast.

The wire was replaced with PO drop wire, copper coated steel with the insulation left on, and the ends coated with Tectyl.

This was on a 3 band quad.

If I ever build one, I would use 7X7 316 stainless cable.

The difference between flexweave and aluminium will be negligible in both performance and length.

I see, I think I misunderstood, I can model the dimensions given, but can't offer to adjust everything to improve it, that is quite time consuming and I couldn't say when I could do it, so I think better is some one else could help, sorry.

I've used 1.6mm aluminium/stainless MIG wire with good success, on a 10m quad it'll last years but you must only bend it once....don't straighten it again to bend it further along.

I have a couple of rolls of this too, I may give it a go and see how it pans out.

It will be hardly any cost to replace any broken wires.

Thanks for info
