post up some pics so we can see what you have. they were 3/8 stud mounted but you may not have all of the antenna

Thanks Steve,it looks like It is complete for 40/80.
I have the tripod base with the 3 small coils with little bolts at the end (for tuning?) Then there is the long coil about 1m in length, into that via a 3/8 stud screws either the 40 or 80 coil and finally the top whip screws in and slides up and down for tuning!
I think you could get them also for 10/15/20?
Ed

sounds right Ed. you will need a 3/8 stud mount, or a mag mount. Im running a single band watson type for 20M, and Ive found a triple mag mount in the centre of the roof to be best for easy tuning. the old g-whips are a very good antenna. there isnt much info out there on them.

if you have an antenna analyser it makes tuning so much easier

Thanks for that Steve ,I have an analyser so that’s not a prob.I would give going mobile with a trimag mount though it would probably rip the roof off the i20 :D

No problem, a few years ago I bought a bundle of Gwhip parts. I found that detail on the web.

Yes they are all on the web, the Yahoo G Whip group, and Andrew Rushton has copies of all the data as I gave him it all in 2017 when I gave him the G Whip business. See www.gwhip.co.uk

PS, that older model may well use a 3/8 BSF BASE thread, not the current 3/8 UNF mounts, so beware, however Andrew Rushton of G Whip has new type bases with 3/8 BSF to 3/8 UNF converter threads, hundreds of pre-made coils, stems, telescopic top sections, so there's no shortage of parts for them...............see my other post for info on them, stacks of it if you look around
