 Re: DUAL VHF/UFF BEAM
they are great Antennas.
never used 70cm's never mind 70cm's ssb, best contact last week was northern France 5/9 and the antenna is just about 16 feet from the ground
bob.

 Re: DUAL VHF/UFF BEAM
I have bought mine for satellite working. 2mtr vertical and 70cm horizontal beam, with twin feed points. Excellent build quality without doubt. I'm waiting for them to get the 12 element 2mtr beam in, then I'll order one of them also.
Bryan..

 Re: DUAL VHF/UFF BEAM
well it looks like the greedy Shisters in the Uk have roped another victim into selling goods on His behalf, and hiking the price.
I was going to buy another antenna from Goran. But looking at his web page since he has got Wanker and Stanton/ Nevada involved in selling his antennas for him the price as already been put up by 36 Euro.
Plus whatever they add to the cost. Better start looking elsewhere me thinks.

Bryan.............................. I just looked at his 2m 6el beam, he sells for 84 euro, add postage, and it will probably approach £100. To buy the parts, good quality aluminium ans clamps would cost you about £48. (and that is using larger element and boom) Then you have to design it (despite what he says, "amateurish" software does a good job on an antenna like that, ans build it. He uses element spacing to bring the impedance at the centre of the driven element to 50 ohms, very old idea but much more widely used now with easy to get and use modelling software. His SWR curve is very flat, however he does not show the F/B curve (not that I can see) So the answer is learn how to do it, or pay up I do agree the local profiteering is to be avoided if possible.

 Re: DUAL VHF/UFF BEAM
Then you have the never ending problem. I work permanent nights, I will be doing for the next 9 yrs.
My XYL works weekends Saturday Sunday.
We have 2 small girls 7/5 that need to be looked after. So yes probably is much cheaper to buy but in my house time is at a premium not an excuse just facts.
So the only option at the moment is to buy commercial, I don't like paying well over the odds but if you need something quick time instead of taking years to finish a project. Well guess which one I take.
Oh by the way Steve you forgot to add VAT Serbia is not part of the EU.

Bryan.................................... I work 9 days a week and 460 days a year, well it feels like it, my wife works 5 days a week and the girls are not young but I only get to see my wife a couple of times a week and I don't have as much time as I would like, so I too pay for things, but I wonder if you sent Goran an email asking what he will do it for? there is never any harm in asking. bob. ps: if the robbing buggers here had comment slots on their websites it could be fun.

Bryan.................................... Yes, time is normally in short supply, and here as well, family comes before radio I would not build one for £100, doing one at a time it would pay more to stack shelves at the supermarket, sometimes I don't think it is appreciated that it doesn't just take an hour for DIY, so I suppose the expense isn't so bad when looked at realistically.

I already did Bob. I sent him an email asking why he has put his price up by 36 Euro. He didn't answer that question but told me to buy one from Nevada quickly. That's all well and good but the one I want they don't have it in stock. He hasn't answered that either. And now he's gone into business with Nevada who are in partnership with Wanker and Stanton. I will give it a miss, until he sees sense and goes back to just working for himself. I won't be buying anything again from him. Bryan........

 Re: DUAL VHF/UFF BEAM
I didn't say it wasn't in Europe. I said it's not part of the EU. Which makes it subject to vat. From customs and excise. 20%. Come on Stuart, keep up OM.
