Wayne set the open spot on a frequency that allows operation of hotspot around 434.135 I think but check with the band plans.
So go to the modem tab on the open spots browser and set the frequency and put it in dstar....
Go to the connector tab page set frequency again to the same one as the modem, and input call sign where needed.
Also set the radio set on the same frequency, Dstar is the easiest to do trust me :D
If the open spot is near the radio set tx low and preferably run the radio into a dummy load near the openspot.
Great little gadget any issues let me know and join the shark forum loads of info on there that helped me.
If you really get swamped let me know we can run it through on the blower.
Mark.

No worries Wayne glad you got it working, I've just got a new ft2d as Yaesu have released new software to use it as a direct entry to wires X and a standalone node access point so that's my next faff.
The openspot is a good little gadget providing you get it on a stable connection like most hot spots. I've seen so many ops blame hotspots for poor access when it's a internet issue.
Another point Wayne mine used to be in another room not the shack and I ended up buying a vonets internet bridge meaning I could bring the hotspot in the shack and turn everything to bare minimum tx pwr and use a dummy load for the radio as the openspot is a foot away.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the openspot it fills the voids HF and local rag chewing have and some days gets more use.

This worked for me Wayne
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3556745766

All you need to do is Wang it on your PC first and tell it to use your WiFi then plug ethernet end into hotspot and power it with a feed I use a iPhone plug :D
