Is it the ferric chloride that irritates you?
Or are you etching with some other chemicals?
I only say as ferric chloride has very little in the way of fumes as it does its job, and if you wear suitable rubber gloves for any board handling, any skin irritation, that I accept some suffer from, is avoidable!
One off/two off boards either come in expensive, or even turned down as not financially viable by some pcb manufacturing companies, unless you can supply all relevant artwork, or photo screen prints etc.
Would it be possible to maybe photo burn your design onto boards,, or even supply a board done with the old school rub down transfers, and get a fellow ham that does not suffer problems with the chemicals to pop them in the etching solution for you?

It is the ferric chloride. ISince I don't have proper extraction it causes a severe reaction and I won't use it anymore. Yes I know small pcb manufacture is expensive but still cheaper than buying COTS. I could get out on veroboard but I want to get my boards professionally made. My question on any recommendations remains.

cheers,

There is an alternative to ferric chloride, it is white, forgotten what it was. If I still have some, I will look what it was.
I changed to CNC a few years ago, but must say I never noticed any fumes when I did use ferric chloride.

There used to be some ones on ebay who made small quantities, and the name is on here somewhere, may turn up in a search.
