Re: Tropo
The biggest problem with D4 is getting someone on. Dave G7RAU spotted the beacon at 59++ earlier Needless to say this side of Dartmoor there's an uncanny silence towards EA8 which is par for the course when you guys in IO70 are working them like shelling peas

Re: Tropo
Sorry D4, Dave is getting stuff far stronger than me. Haven’t heard the D4 beacon as yet but I think an early start in the morning is called for...

Re: Tropo
Worked another couple of EA8’s this morning, the beacons are still audible at 1130 local. According to Dave, D4 will be active this evening on CW, 144.300 +/-

Re: Tropo
Excellent well done, I've not worked EA8 on tropo from here but have heard one of the CT3 2m beacons in the past, can't remember which one. Are you copying anything from CT3?
Must have a look down that way later but it's quite hard from inland here, although I do get the northern Spanish beacons in fairly regularly.

Re: Tropo
Was a good day, worked 14 EA8’s ( didn’t know there were that many on), heard the D4 but didn’t manage the QSO, the duct just didn’t get to me, Dave RAU was hearing him at 5/9, only just detectable 8 miles inland. See what today brings

Condx have been up but not to the extent you guys are getting, heard an EA2 yesterday and worked into northern France this morning. Annoying as 3 days ago I was in IO80BF with a clear take-off to the SW looking over the cliff from the holiday cottage

It seems to be still good today.

Re: Tropo
Chris spotted that but had a dyslexic moment with the freq, its 144.436.
I hung around until late last night hoping the duct would strengthen, and it did but I never did hear D4Z or the beacon, and although the ED8ZAA beacon suddenly appeared I didnt hear any more EA8s,the only 2 heard here were EA8AVI and EA8TJ. This morning its all gone from here, can't even hear ED1ZAG but I heard Tim G4LOH working EA8 at 59+ so its obviously still open from down there.
Full credit to the D4C team and especially EA8FF who got on a plane, flew to D4 and then raced up the mountain to catch the conditions.

Re: Tropo
ED1YCA and ED1ZAG still audiable here but significantly weaker than last night. Soon be back to listening to white noise until the next opening!
