I remember when Flex entered the market, their marketing speil was buy this rig you'll never have to buy another as software updates would keep you up to speed..... what a crock of shit that turned out to be!! :D

But the software updates are keeping you up to speed. The 6300 and 6500 are going to get the same software updates as the 6400 and 6600. The 6400 and 6600 are them changing the front end hardware because there's cheaper ways of doing it than they did with the 6300 and 6500 and it allows them to provide additional benefits such as adding pre-selectors to the 6400 which were missing from the 6300. Other than that on the RF side things are still the same.

All the signal processing etc and additional features on the front end can be done in all the 6000 series range. They've not just written off the 6300 and 6500. They're not Yaecomwood.

Are they still keeping the Flex 1000 fully updated with new software releases?
