Post Broadband Pole Mounted FTTdp G.fast Kit
A new pole and overhead fibre cable has appeared near my antennas. The pole has a black box on top, would this be Broadband Pole Mounted FTTdp G.fast Kit ?
Do these have the potential to cause interference ( I have it on 6mtrs as wide 20 khz modulated signals at regular intervals over the band).
I never had this problem until the new pole and box appeared.

I don't know much about this but I was always under the impression that fiber doesn't cause EMC It's light after all,

Not sure what other stuff might be in the box though,

We have FTTH here and there is no noise from it that I have noticed.

Thanks for the reply Trevor, I am not sure whats in the box either, but the fibre seems to be converted to copper wire for the feed to the house, I suspect that the conversion process will be done at frequencies that have the potential to cause interference, I might be completely wrong however!

Hi Geoff

This is what I have outside my house mounted on a telegraph pole https://flic.kr/p/2iM9C74 doesn't seem to cause any QRM.
The fibre goes directly to the home and terminates to a wall mounted fibre modem wall mounted box that converts to an electrical signal going to the BT Router.
