Post ICOM IC-9100
Hi All,

I wonder if you could help me please I have a Icom 9100, and for the life in me I cannot get onto D-star.

I am in Halifax so the nearest repeater is GB7YD but I think this is down for the time being, so I cannot connect to that.

I have the necessary software but seen as I haven't used D-star for some years I'm struggling to get my head around this Radio not like the old 2820

I have UR-CQCQCQ MY-M1CMR R1- GB7YD C R2- GB7YD G Is there anything else I am missing. I have been in contact with Tim who as given me the csv file which I have programmed into the radio and I was Just wondering if there is anything else I am missing. And if GB7YD is off the air which it say's it's operational then it is a repeater problem or as Tim said it might be that the ut-121 as come loose in transit. One other thing do any of these small hotspot boxes work with the 9100 maybe that's another route to take so as I am not dependent on repeaters elsewhere

Any information very much appreciated,

Regards

Bryan...............

Bryan,
Neither Barnsley repeaters are connected, or they were not last week at least. They are not been connected for several months. I have raised this with the Barnsley contact person. I have offered to provide assistance but nothing happens. Seems a waste of some valuable kit there.

When I pass through Yorkshire I deploy a DVap, which is rather like having an in car repeater. The benefit of using this kit is that we do not need to depend upon a hilltop repeater being functional. For home use there are many other options, such as a DV Mega, DV Mini etc
