These work very well, I used to have one on most rigs.

My problem with them is they are like an octopus, tentacles coming out in all directions.

You can't get to the power switch if the mounting bracket is facing down, and it is almost impossible to plug headphones in, especially if something is next to it.
You cant mount it on a vertical surface with its own bracket, as the power plug is in the way.
The NR level is set by DIP switches on the back, fine if you never want to change it.
The volume control is fiddly, on top of the speaker, and hard to set, and it work backwards.
The NR on of is on top, hard to reach if the speaker is fairly high up, you have to stand up to get to it.

I also didn't like the long fitted lead to the extension speaker jack of the radio, if you don't want to cut it, it had to be coiled up somewhere.

A while ago I made a unit to hold 6 of them, but it didn't really solve anything, and it took up a lot of space.

I stopped using them last year sometime, and the ones I still have are just sitting in a box. Today, rain stopped planned activities, and I had a go to make one more usable, want to use it upstairs.

This is the result.

Left hand controls the NR level, centre two switches are the on/off and NR in/out, right hand knob is the volume and the headphone jack on the far right.

The back had the power socket and a 3.5mm jack socket for the audio in.

It is a little larger than the original, but 100X more usable.

I've never seen any one else mention how many surfaces of the original has something on it, so probably just me who finds them awkward :)
