Re: Trio TS700S
This link http://www.saundrecs.co.uk/g4trn/LED_Dial_Light.htm suggests 12V 1.5W The TS700S, a nice rig, was my first Transceiver back in 1979. I had the matching external VFO and all of the Xtal Channels populated.

Re: Trio TS700S
If you want to either get a diffused white LED lamp, or take a glass clear one and rub the surface over with very fine emery cloth until its evenly matt finished, it helps diffuse the light and stops any "bright spots" on the display. The old incandescent bulbs had a nice even scattered light, those glass clear LED's act like a lens with a brighter focused light spot from the front of the dome. I have a few FT221's here, they have all been converted now to LED back of dial illumination, by one method above or the other, it looks much better from the front even backlight wise, and far more evenly distributed than just shoving a clear glass LED behind them. Warm white LED lamps look better in old radios, you want something around 2700K or there abouts, the daylight types 4000K and above look a little "stark" in those older displays.

Re: Trio TS700S
Thank you Dave. It's not the main dial that has blown It's only the one light above the fixed channel indicator that has blown. All the other lights are working and the frequency cluster is fine. If I change the one that has blown for a LED it may look out of place with the rest of the working incandescent lights. Thank you all for the info. Mark 2w0jmk
