Post Another linear
Decided to build another one, as I have the parts.

Different ideas though, I want the case to be narrower, and the PSU to be separate. To cover HF&6
Oversize heatsink, and four fans, the whole thing intended to be able to run 600W RF out without making a noise, so at 400W out it will be hardly getting warm (comparatively)

The am , LPFs and relays are rated at 1200W.

The thing that takes the time is the metal work, drilling and tapping probably over 100 holes, and cutting the vent and display holes etc, so I'm aiming to have it done about September, it is not a priority.

Hoping to be able to leave space in it for an auto ATU, but that is only still in the early design stages and code testing.

This will be the last on now, the parts are getting too expensive :(

Nice one Steve. Are these commercially available boards you're combining?

Sorry, didn't see you question!

Yes, they are the Russian boards, similar to what I used before. Some are boards only and have to be built, some come complete, though it seems that now most are being sold complete.
The price has risen a lot since I bought them.

The only exceptions are some of the controls (like setting the mode and power of the rig for tuning, then setting it back to what it was after tuning, fan management, antenna switching, auto band selection, control lockout on TX, some parts of the display and indicators) and the auto antenna tuner, which is home designed and built from scratch.

The radio interface has taken more time than I had hoped. I had some problems reading the serial data with a PIC, and am now going to make that part of it separate, with i2c comms between it and the other controls and the tuner.

An impressive project indeed.
