Correct, but ten turn pots are, and using a 1:1 drive a portion of the track could be utilised. Most commercial rotators have a 500 ohm pot in them.
Failing that I may have a knackered Kenpro here with a fubarred motor, I could strip the pot out of

and thats exactly how i repaired my yaesu rotator when the pot went pop
2 10 turn 5k pots.

Good call on the ten turn pots both! :good:
And of course you can't stress a "stop point" with them, as if they do overrun past the end for some strange reason, the ratchet style clutch just clicks away.
