Very good Steve. Will you be making your various mods and pcbs available?

The mods are partly ones others have done, with mods to them, and the circuits will be on my other site.
The hex code for the PIC is already there

The boards, generally no, but may make exceptions :)
Quite simply, it takes much more time than I have available, to offer to do them as a general thing, plus if there is a simple change needed to a board, I would just patch it, I wouldn't make another board for myself. Many people would not like that, they would not like to have to cut a track and put a jumper on.

Tested it this morning, and works well.

Made another board with everything on it.

Starting on the front panel today.

The changes to firmware now do all I want for this version, so I have finalised what I want.

Don't think it looks too bad, or lacking in features for a sub £120 rig :)

The knobs are not all aligned, I just added them in a hurry to see what the front looks like with knobs on.

Another front panel, with touch screen and less buttons.

Final case nearly complete. This will be my last one, moving on to other projects :)
The four small holes are for LEDs the ones near the power switch for RX and TX, and the ones below the SWR meter for high SWR.

Just worked my 50 th country on my Version 3 ubitx.

I dont hunt DX.but on my cq call was answered by north korea so was well chuffed with this one 559 on a wire aerial on 20 mtrs and 10 watts.

I also have a tft colour screen on my ubitx running 1.95 firmware.
well pleased with my £83 spend for an 8 band transceiver.
ITS IN AN EF01 PLASTIC CASE OFF EBAY.
total cost £91.00.

Looks good and radio in use almost every day.
waiting to see if some bright spark can come up with a small atu to compliment the ubitx.

Excellent stuff Dave! are you sure it was North Korea though?
It's the most wanted country (dxcc wise) on the planet and there is no radio ham activity allowed from there.

I be more than a little dubious about that Dave, it's not allowed maybe someone was taking the piss

They look good.
The stock pre-drilled case is the answer if you don't like metal work. I looks smart and has provision for the basics.
