Post Re: UKAC Changes
We are introducing new short low power FM contests aimed at newcomers on 4m, 2m and 70cm which will run in the hour prior to the UKAC events (1900 – 2000) on those bands

That should add a few more points to the total, but will cause some confusion with a few point givers unsure how to give the correct report.

I frequently call on FM during the 4M UKACs, sometimes getting some replies.
I've long ago given up on 2M, and 70cm, due to lack of response.
The odd reply I did get resulted in wasted time due to lack of understanding as to what was required.
I was just amazed by the number who not only didn't know what their locator square was but seemed totally oblivious as to what they are.

I might go on to give a few points to the FM stations, and try and encourage them to come on for the UKACs as well.

Perhaps not on 2M, that's already too busy for me to work all the stations I hear.

Cheers

Tony
