DX SPOTS VHF/SHF ONLY
To keep in line with Kevs' section I thought I would include this as a sticky.
Please give a frequency rather than just a band.
To start it off - DK3EE - 144.300 - JO41gu - 800km
Cheers
Tony

Re: DX SPOTS VHF/SHF ONLY
Yes....its interesting Tony, but lots and lots of QSB. IN53/73/83/93...and down to JN03/13 nothing further. EA1FDI in IN53 is head and shoulders above all the others here 144.260 hes 55 off the back of the antenna, which probably says a lot about my antennas Hepburn predicted this one rather well.......

I worked 20 odd, whilst having a break from the rewiring, but nothing exciting, no new squares, but lots of countries present. A quick 2M chat with Helmut, DL6YBF, but the path was a bit unstable. CT and EA on 4M. I gave EA7HG a call but, again nothing new heard. Only a slight interruption to the shack re-build. Nearly finished now. Cheers Tony

Re: DX SPOTS VHF/SHF ONLY
Its certainly been a good day on 6 Tony...I used it as an opportunity to wear out the GR prefix I never did work TZ6TR,luckily I dont need the country, but the square would have been nice.Sadly he never got above 55 here...and C5YK never made it at all. It seemed to be that the East Coast and the North of the country were the places to be. Still its great to hear activity returning....cant wait for those transatlantic openings!

Re: DX SPOTS VHF/SHF ONLY
Transatlantic is tough from here as the ground rises to the West. About 10ft just 10ft from the tower base! Then buildings and up hill to the mountains! It is possible if you try hard enough but it can be annoying when you hear someone, a few miles to the East, working a string of Ws. I only worked about 20 yesterday. No squares, or DXCCs, I'd not worked before. Besides that I got dragged off to 2M for a test with DL6YBF and 4M opened so I was hoping for a new E or CT square. That wasn't to be either. The rewire, and antenna switching mods, are all but complete so now the XYL wants a few days away. The bands are bound to open so have fun. Or should I pretend I've not finished all the security cameras and that we need to stay at home. Cheers Tony

G0UWK wrote: 2m Open with sporadic Easy, A veritable madhouse on 2, 4 and 6M. Nothing special on 6M so spent the little time I had on 2M and 4M. 10 stations in the first blast but TK5JJ failed. The second blast didn't really make it here. 4M has been open since around 1400GMT, and still is. Mainly to CT and EA but some other stations popped up. 6M open since I first checked , at 1200GMT. Nothing special, as I said, but all directions. It's been a fun time on the radio. Cheers Tony
