New ICOM IC-905 VHF/UHF/uW transceiver
ICOM announced the new IC-905 VHF/UHF/Microwave transceiver at the Tokyo Ham Fair which is taking place this weekend August 20-21

This multimode transceiver covers the 144, 430, 1240, 2400 and 5600 MHz bands and has an optional module CX-10G for the 10 GHz band.

In addition it appears to provide support for ATV operation.

The ICOM promotional video was released at 01:10 GMT on Saturday, August 20.

Will probably cost an arm and a leg to buy.

Aye it won't be cheap I am sure, but nice to see a return to VHF and up dedicated multiband radios, rather than VHF/UHF, and possibly 23 cms being tagged onto what is basically an HF radio on steroids.
Once Shack in a box radios appeared, and of course came to dominate, the dedicated VHF and up single or multiband radios dwindled dramatically for quite a while.

Icom has announced an exciting industry first at the Tokyo Hamfair, which opened on 20th August 2022. Based on its SHF project, the IC-905 VHF/UHF/SHF SDR transceiver will not only cover 144Mhz, 430Mhz, 1200MHz, 2400MHz, 5600MHz but 10 GHz* as well. (*Optional CX-10G transverter required)

As to the launch date and pricing, we don't have those details but rest assured we will publish them on our website and social media channels when we have them.

We will be showing them later this year at the National Hamfest so make a note in your diary to come along and see them for yourself on the Icom UK stand at Newark.

So the cost will be £3,549.95 plus £1499.99 for the 10ghz transverter from ML&S wow that hurts.
