Post GENUINE HEXBEAM....Something strange is going on!!
Hi Guys,

Something strange going on with my recentley new 6 band Hexbeam from Anthony, is that I moved bands from 20m to 40m and forgot to switch antennas from my Inverted L for 40m to my Hexbeam and found that my Icom IC-7400 tunned it up on 40m no problem at all, I therefore went to see if I could hear a station on 40m and I did on 7008.00 OJ9X on CW, and without hesitation I called him once and worked him.

I have had great results with the hexbeam on all the other 6 bands.

The only down side is that on 17mtrs were it gives me some buck shot into the shack causing my PC to dance!!

Maybe there is something going on with my RG213 50ohm feeder?

Maybe I'm just lucky?

Any information or help on this matter will be appreciated in advance.

Regards Paul G0WRE.

OF course it wil work on 40. It’s hf and on hf everything works. I used to talk regularly to this guy that was loading a 2m vertical on top band :)
Should have a 1:1 at the beam and try 2 chokes close to feed and in the shack

I also managed to tune up my Hexbeam on 40m but it was not practical at all as the losses were exceptional compared to a dipole, then again I can tune up a dummy load. :)
