Post 10mt beam and chimney stack
I'm finding it difficult to place antennas at the moment. I've just took the 4 element sirio 28mhz beam off the mast and placed a three element quad for six meters there now. I'm thinking of placing the 10mt beam onto a good pole and attach it to the chimney stack. The chimney was re-grouted last year and very sturdy, the beam is very lightweight, do you think in high winds it would bring the chimney down or think it will be fine?

Sounds very optimistic really, freshly pointed or not the mortar between the bricks is possibly lime and can be cleaned off the bricks with a pointing trowel and minimal effort... gable wall might be a better bet if it's possible ie. a semi or detached house where you have an exposed gable wall.

I had a three element cheap and cheerful Sirio 11 metre beam for 10 in a back garden tree, a hefty one at that and had to put the Yagi back up twice before giving up.

Cheers, Dave.

What size is the chimney? Any pictures of the chimney?
