Re: Which Cobwebb?
Build your own... got a spare 'TXQ balun here, wound by the great man himself. 4 fishing poles and some wire is all that's required

Re: Which Cobwebb?
To be fair, I spent nearly £150 making mine to take a Kw... The toroids are expensive! Then there's decent quality spreaders etc etc to buy. £209 is very fair money if the quality is good.

Re: Which Cobwebb?
Does anyone have a feel for how one of these cobwebbs would perform in an attic?
I know it wouldn't be as performant but I'm on a newbuild and shoving one of these on my roof isn't going to be workable.

Re: Which Cobwebb?
They would perform well...just more noise. I'd just make the shape using wood fixed to the rafters though. No need for spreaders etc...cheaply cheap

Re: Which Cobwebb?
Thanks both! Good shout on the foil membrane in the roof. I couldn't see it when I went up there to inspect (I have one of these up there at the moment). However, I suspect based on noise, it is there. Guess the (probably only) advantage of the builders still being on site is that I can keep an eye out next time they're fitting a roof! I'll post back with updates.

Re: Which Cobwebb?
The magnatenna is the main reason behind the noise. his antennas are very poor performers.

Re: Which Cobwebb?
Anyone with the 7 band missglasgow build webb having issues ? when it rains mine is unsuable due to high swr ive noticed the radiating wires are very close to one another so the droplets of rain water hanging are causing these issues on my previos 5 band twin wire web the swr would go a slightly bit higher but still usable

Re: Which Cobwebb?
Mine shifts frequency by around 100khz when wet, still very usable though, single wire version.
One thing to bare in mind, the wire that holds the ends of the elements together can be an issue...
I use tent pole elastic, and plastic insulators which solved the problem, but I'm not sure what the 'bought' ones use.
