Ruralish area, and a nearby farm?
I don't suppose there are any overhead power lines around are there?
I had a doozy of a noise problem a few years ago, wide band, static sounding noise, strong general S meter level, with clicks and crackles like you describe, suddenly came out of nowhere.
It ended up being a failing glass insulator on a nearby three phase overhead 11 kV wire system.
It had transformers on various poles as it went along, feeding this and that properties.
I will be honest, I never found it or tracked it down to source, it sort of cured itself, as one day it went "bang" in style, we lost all power for one, and Western power came out eventually and repaired the overhead line.
Next day?....the noise I had suffered for weeks on end had completely gone! ;)
I can only assume it was my problem, as it would have been a very good coincidence if it had not been.

well came back on air as you do still got s9 on 80m of static noise i have tried dipole and ocf dipole and end fed with 9.1 unun close to the house and away from the house no difference at all so i put the cb vertical back up and the noise is gone ? my ft 920 will tune up and work from 40 to 10m i may have to look for a cp6 etc so i can work on 80m
