Post 80m vertical
I've got to put a antenna up for a radio club demo. I have 20m of wire and a 10m fibreglass pole. What would be best? a coil at the bottom of the pole, a coil halfway up or wrap the wire round the pole?

We will be using an SGC230 to help with any tuning.

I'd coil it round the pole like a 'Firestick', and lose any leftover in a small base coil.

You can get a bit of Audience Participation going, to hold the pole and twiddle it round while you wind the wire on. :)

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to wrap 25m of wire around the pole as Chris suggested. if the SGC isn't available Ill try a 4:1 unun.

A tip that G3TXQ passed on to me was to put the pole up at about 45 degrees. This sort of 'fills-in' the overhead null, and lets you work Inter-G.
