Online Distance Learning Course for Full Exam
The popular Bath Based Distance Learning for the amateur radio Full exam is starting again in March. Bookings are being taken now

The Bath Based Distance Learning team (BBDL) helped nearly 800 students to pass the Advanced exam under the old syllabus. Between 2011 and 2019 over 28% of the total UK Advanced exam passes were BBDL students and the pass rate was over 80%, compared with a national average of 65%.

After reworking their training material, and running a successful Intermediate course, the team are now planning their first course for the Full level exam syllabus. The course will run from March to June this year.

Students will receive weekly work packages via a virtual classroom and will have access to weekly on-line tutorials. Students will also have access to one of the remote tutors who will provide feedback and additional guidance when required. There are weekly quizzes to check progress and at the end of the course there will be a number of mock exams.

There will be no charge for the training but applicants will need to work through a pre-course classroom and quiz to be eligible for a place. If the course is oversubscribed, places will be allocated at random from those successfully completing the pre-course work.

Each student will need to provide their own RSGB Full Licence textbook and arrange their own exam at the end of the course. It seems likely that the exams will be on-line with remote invigilation. Advice will be provided as part of the course.

The deadline for course applications is Wednesday 17 February. To request full details and an application form, please e-mail BBDL Team Leader, Steve, G0FUW, via g0fuw AT tiscali.co.uk

Post Re: Bath Based Distance Learning announces Full licence cour
The first Full Licence course from the Bath-Based Distance Learning team is now closed for applications. Over 250 people have enquired about the training, including a number of amateurs from the USA, and one from France. The team received double the number of applications than the 100 planned spaces. They have expanded the numbers as far as they can but many will have to wait for the next course. The team are looking to rework their plans so they can run a second Full Licence course later in the year. An announcement will be made when that course is ready for any further applications. Please do not make enquiries before that announcement.

Distance Learning for Full Amateur Radio Licence Exam
Since 2011, the Bath Based Distance Learning team (BBDL) has helped over 900 students to obtain their Full Amateur Radio Licence, the next course starts in August - Book Now

Student feedback is always very positive and the pass rate continues to be well over 80%, compared with a national average of around 66%.

Having completed a second Intermediate Licence course in May, the team are now planning another Full Licence level course. The course will run from the end of August to December.

Students will receive weekly work packages via an on-line classroom and will have access to weekly on-line tutorials. Each student is allocated to one of the remote tutors who provide feedback and additional guidance. There are weekly quizzes to check on progress and at the end of the course there will be a number of mock exams.

There is no charge for the training but applicants must work through some pre-course material and complete a quiz to be eligible for a place. This focuses on the ‘new’ topics that were introduced to the Intermediate syllabus in 2019. The aim of the pre-course classroom is to make sure applicants can use the BBDL systems and to ensure that they are ready for the Full training.

Each student will need to provide their own RSGB Full Licence textbook and arrange their own exam at the end of the course. Advice will be provided as part of the course.

The deadline for course applications is Tuesday 26 July. To request full details and an application form, please e-mail BBDL Team Leader, Steve, G0FUW, via g0fuw AT tiscali.co.uk
