I remember being in Cowes during Cowes week, and I heard the shout go out over 2 metres
about a missing child. My wife's comment quite loud, was I wouldn't want any of that lot looking for
a missing child if it was one of mine.

Who would she want looking for them?
The child's uncle?
The Scouts?
Police?
Judges?
The vicar?
Nuns?
Teachers?
Those running the children's home?
A crowd of politicians?
Historically speaking, all dubious choices.

The only safe choice appears to be a biker gang.

Cheers

Did make me wonder, although the local group have a certain reputation.

Loved the marshalls during the Olympic Torch run around the UK. Our local
Raynet bod outside our house all important in the road, telling everyone to
stand back outside our house. He got bulldozed to the ground by the security
guys. Then had it explained to him by a police officer, why it happened.

Those arent dubious choices at all. Its just that there are odd types in ALL areas of humanity. If it was MY child missing I'd want EVERYONE looming for them.

It's always struck me as odd that attention seems to be focused on strangers when the truth is that the biggest danger is from family, followed by close acquaintances.
It's probably easier to focus suspicion, hate and disgust at strangers, rather than believe the truth.

Cheers
