not quite as me credit card.

Its re enforced with wooden poles and not as droopy as first thought it would be. Once sorted got to set up the kav wire brace across top of antenna. High winds don't put up antenna beams in high winds as were exposed to the Atlantic here on coast of Cornwall. Only antenna up in high winds is the full wave Loop 40m wire. System i have here allows me to drop antenna when threat of bad weather on way with in about 3 minutes of reaching the pole. Plus this little puppy breaks into 4 sections for transport as its 14ft + long. Q2/8

As also got a Tri El Moxon for 6m. But can't get all antennas on current push up pole LOL
Hence after a good tilt crank mast and fit it with a remote winch. Then can get all on plus the MM3 currently in the shed.

I'd be interested hearing how you get on with it as I've dabbled with a VHF quagi myself.
Come to think of it I once took a hankering for a HF Quagi and extended the boom on a 2 ele quad to accommodate a couple of trapped dipoles....so Ref and Driven were Quad elements and Dir 1 & 2 were trapped dipoles, worked fantastic but was a beast of an antenna!
You'll see the VHF Quagi here; viewtopic.php?f=48&t=74947&p=397996&hilit=2m+quagi#p397996

Hi folks.

Its up this morning in air :clapping:
Got the support bridge on :yahoo:

Not hearing a lot and found the local beacon 50m west of me and did a spin test. :beg:

Beam width appears to be about 60' as when on the beacon its S6 and go out side the the beam width and its GONE
SWR 144300 is well low 1:1 and on 145500 about 1.2

On old Yagi barely S2

Quite happy with that
Also noted the FM noise off old 6 El was about S1 on this beam its S4
And that chuffing noise to south of me increased as well on 144300ssb

Oh yes great in it build it ya self and get it on air and make the contacts on a Home brewed antennas. This one be the latest of many I have done over the years

G5RV half Portable
1/4w 40m vert portable
1/2 40m inverted L portable 8m mast
1/4w inverted L 80m portable 10m mast
2 El moxon beam portable
6 El yagi home and portable
Q70/8 Home and portable
Q2/8 home and portable
T6M Tri element Moxon beam home
10m Moxon beam folded version
CW 80 portable
OCFD 80m portable
OCFD 80m for home yet to be done
full wave loop 40m with Q stub RG6 coax
Plus baluns & Ununs for the antennas portable

Me first beam was back in 1998 short 4 El Yagi for errh humm band

Have a go wire antennas are fairly simple as most of my antennas are wire on frame works

Nice bit of homebrew!
Also dabbled with Quagi's for a while years ago.
Best one I ever had was a bought one, 8 element Quagi by TET antennas, built like a tank, no boom sag even without any support, and made from aircraft grade Ali.
Really did perform very well!
Are TET antennas still going?
Also had a 5/8 over 5/8, 2 meter co-linear by TET, all Ali construction with hairpin matching stub, also built like a tank, all pins and brackets stainless steel, and very good in performance.
Wish I still had them now. :)

So far pretty good as tune into a beacon 50 miles wess of me and anything out side 60' just disappears
at S6 to me and reject nothing is heard seems knock spots of me old 6 El yagi. Hopefully catch a few in contest at weekend will tell if doing that well. But so far me 145FM noise level is up and small amount on the SSB 144.

Trouble is down this way its like a ghost town on 2m
But must get that remote rotation unit working then be able to rotate mast from shack instead in garden.
