Post 100Hz noise on 2m
Good evening all.

The below is the waterfall from my IC9700 on 2m. This new broad signal is evident from 142 to 147MHz but seemingly not anywhere else.

The lines / signals are 100Hz apart, they appeared recently and they are present at all times of the day night.
They are S9 when my 12 element yagi is pointing at a neighbours home, if I turn the yagi I can almost null them, so I am confident this comes from that property. I have also done the usual on / off checks in my home.

Any suggestions of what my neighbour has acquired that can cause this?
We are on friendly terms so hopefully investigations should be permitted, but your ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Switch mode PSU possibly.
Does the neighbour have CCTV by any chance?
Alternatively mobile phone charger left plugged in, TV box, monitor PSU.
The on for 24 hours a day is significant though. I had similar on HF, but it was only one camera out of 6 that was causing it.

12v trickle charger (he wouldn't have a motor bike by any chance)?

Thanks gents. I'll set up an RSP2 SDR and go walkabout to both see the extent frequency wise and hopefully a source location.

Interesting idea re the trickle charger, he does keep a few classic cars. He used to have a PLT / powerline transmission internet thingy but that went faulty.

Well having looked with an SDR it runs from 60MHz to 300MHz, definately comes from next door and the 100Hz spacing in the dark is now 200Hz in daylight.

The difference in day / night frequency may be a clue. I hope it's not his PV solar panels. He'll not enjoy that, they have been fitted for 18 months and so far been invisible to my radio activities.

I'll chat over the fence subtly first. Then after the 3 week lockdown we're under in GD I'll invite myself in for a sniff around with an RX.

Bah humbug. I may have to use HF.
