Post GB7MR
Does anyone know if GB7MR transmits stuff from the MARC network?

If I monitor GB7HM on talkgoup 235 I hear calls from all over the UK and further a field.
If I do the same on MR I don't hear anything, but I see the green RX light come on on the radio as if it is receiving from a different talk group.
I check on http://www.northerndmrcluster.com/livemon.php and can see activity on MARC but no audio from MR even though my radio is on the same talk group.
I have done tests with other users accessing MR direct and we could all work each other so I know the codeplug is good.

It's as if it only works as a local repeater?

Its not a problem, I am just curious what is going on.

Good idea Paddy. While trying to find the keepers details I did find the following on the Northern DMR cluster web page.

"10 Jan 2018
GB7MR is currently on reduced TGs as requested by Peter the keeper. Currently hosting local TG9 on slot 1 on only, and local plus regions TGs on slot 2. "

So that resolves this little puzzle .

TG9 slot 1 is a waste of time. Thats what slot 2 is for

Because if slot 1 is connected to the internet to facilitate all the other slot 1 talkgroups, you will get blocked out if someone is on slot 1 on the other talkgroups (low tone on your TX and unable to get in)
Thats why they keep TG9 local on slot 2 and got rid of most of the slot 2 talkgroups
http://www.mw0mwz.co.uk/dmr_bm_talkgroups.php
And a list of ones you can connect to through your repeater on slot 1or slot 2 (click talkgroups >layout)
http://www.dmr-uk.net/
Heres a dmr scanner called hoseline, you can listen to all the talkgroups in the world on this without a radio etc by clicking on the talkgroup as they scroll down fast, give it a chance to load up
If it isnt working try again in a short while

Thanks for the reply Paddy, yes makes sense if the repeater was connected to the internet then I can see where the conflict can occur.
Don't suppose it matters if Brandmiester or Phoenix.

Thanks again

I think MR will be moving as the site owner has had enough of it. Spoke to the equipment owner at the Manchester rally a couple of weeks ago.
