Fusion stuff normally sound OK.
Problem I have with digital signals is when connected to a reflector the quality of the signal of the individual users is very mixed, are you using a DVAP of some kind?
Mobile to mobile simplex or repeater is normally fine.
Also I find that the american accent doesn't survive A to D conversion very well in a lot of cases.

Peters comment........'Problem I have with digital signals is when connected to a reflector the quality of the signal of the individual users is very mixed........'

I agree. In most cases this is attributed to users of the Icom 7100. There are idiot owners who do not know how to use their radio correctly, analogue or digital of course.

RTFM 7100 owners. Do NOT have your microphone gain set any higher than 15-20% on FM and DStar. Most people are grateful when advised and they go away to make the adjustment.

Some do nothing, because Reading The Manual is too much trouble to them. As a result, these are the type of people who wonder why they are not popular on this mode and soon give up on it. I hope!

OK Gary, Graham and myself can only be a stones throw away, we will have to organise a sked and exchange reports to see.
I only have a FT1D for fusion though.

Peter that should be an interesting outcome now I didn't come here to start any wars but it does look like most of the problems are down to mic gain control also some people are abit on the deaf side so they tend to shout down there mic plus there is packet loss that can breaks it up,now I did have a qso with Frank G4YLJ the other night on fusion now he sounded just fine Thanks Frank.

now there does seem to be some mixed feeling between the digital modes we could do with a pole to see who likes Fusion D-Star or DMR also why they don't like if they have tried others.
