I'll endorse Bowood Electronics for components at very good prices.

Cumbria Designs do some nifty kits:

http://www.cumbriadesigns.co.uk/

A mini-counter which can be hung onto your local osc and 'offset' to give a true readout. I've got one of these in my homebrew Topband rig. 10 Hz resolution. Never puts a foot wrong.

A synthesizer based on the excellent Si570 chip. I've never used the Cumbria Designs kit, but the two I got from SDR Kits went together easily and work well. Can be used for local osc's, sig gens etc. http://sdrkits.net/PA0KLT_Description.html

The Signal Hound SA44 range of spectrum analysers is astonishing. You can also get the matching TG44 tracking generator. Plugs in to your PC via USB-2 and works a treat. Crashes a bit when there's an R in the month. http://www.signalhound.eu/

I don't know if you've met Gavin.
He's one of the Camb-Hams who do so well in the UKACs.
A great bunch of, well informed, guys who, along with Flossie (their mobile QTH) are very active in promoting amateur radio.

Cheers

Spoken to Him many times but never met.
Clever lad for sure, we first got talking on KST as I see he had a Gemini device used on Amp for 4m and I wanted to see what he had done as I had mine up and running then too.
