If you are using the full editor on a new post.
1) At the bottom of the page is an attachments section, under that where it says "If you wish to attach one or more files enter the details below" click on browse & find your picture & then click on "Add file".
You get a popup that is adding the file.

2) Then if you click on "Place inline" then

Your picture is shown in between your text.

Or if you have the picture online already:
Select and copy the pictures URL (web address).
Click the IMG button and it will insert 2 IMG tags surrounded by square brackets.
Code:
[img][/img]

What you then do is paste the URL between the 2 tags such as:
Code:
[img]url[/img]

So it looks like:
Code:
[img]http://www.hamradiodeals.co.uk/forums/styles/acidtech/imageset/monsta.gif[/img]

Then you get:

From the FAQ: at faq.php#f3r3
Code:
» Can I post images?
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.

Note:
The image must be at most 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

Post Re: putting pictures on here
you have to shrink them down first so they will upload to the site,
easiest way i have found is to e mail them to yourself, in outlook when you right click your picture from your pc it asks what resolution you want them to be,
i drop it to 640x480, then e mail to yourself and save somewhere easy to find like the desktop, then when you are doing your advert look for add picture then browse for it and tell it to upload, always seems to work ok for me, hope you can understand that,

As I can no longer edit the post.

Note:
The image must be at most 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

You can get your pictures from the web if you use the Windows snipping tool available in Windows 7 onwards.
Snip your image & save as a file. (Ask if you want further info about this useful tool).

You can resize your images using MS paint easily by (from within Windows Explorer) right click on the image and choose Edit.
This opens it in MS Paint.
Then on the Home ribbopn select "Resize.
Select "Pixels".

Enter your new size in pixels

Then click on the disk icon in the top left hand corner of paint to save it.

You can then upload it as per the above instructions.

I wish more would do this, a picture says a thousand words and would save a lot of questions in adverts (also make it more sale-able).

Set yourself an account up on Imgur. Upload your picture.

That way, if you need to change the picture or update it, you can :)

Also, you can do stuff like this

Image

where you can have a thumbnail and people can click on it

The code looks like this:
Code:
[url=http://i.imgur.com/KYDYHIl.jpg][img]http://i.imgur.com/KYDYHIls.jpg[/img][/url]

It makes things very tidy :hello:
