After I did so I began thinking maybe the search box is a ploy and checking to see if you're were on the list is a good enough excuse for inclusion :)

Post Re: DX SPOTS VHF/SHF ONLY
In his descriptions of the various monkeys I cant believe he managed to miss one:

Then theres the invisible cluster monkey..this ones hard to spot because its isolated on an island in the pacific, where it chatters to itself about all the other monkeys, Its main characteristic is a large head and big gaping mouth, luckily being stuck on an island it presents no problem to the other monkeys who just ignore it.

:D

I'll leave others to comment on 10M as it's not somewhere I go very often.

Tony

I do 10m and never self spot, don't find any need for it, worked 186 countries on 10m in the last 12 months without anouncing to the world where I am calling, I guess it's what you might call a challenge- something born out of playing VHF/UHF
Each to their own I guess, what ever works for you, as one american might brand you as a dx cluster monkey,

Just for a giggle have a look at some of the typical monkeys in the zoo as described by this yank
you can even search at the end for your favorite monkey, there is loads of UK stns listed
I have to say the yank hasn't a clue on some stuff as valuable dx info is passed on the cluster
but being north american they have no idea of european VHf dx band conditions or understanding of certain types of propagation
even so it makes entertaining reading.

People like you ian are so funny you try to mock me regarding my self spotting , but you must realise im a busy bloke to much to do .
when i self spot I'm letting people know I'm on a particular frequency calling its works a treat .

you made me smile with your comment "I do 10m and never self spot, don't find any need for it, worked 186 countries on 10m in the last 12 months without announcing to the world where I am calling, I guess it's what you might call a challenge"

When you run a acom 1000 like my self and you have 1200 watts on tap ( I BET YOU GONNA SAY I RUN 400 WATTS ,,,LOL )

its not exactly a challenge is it ? .

like your self , i use all the tools that are available whether you like it or not , i don't really care ,,,, but don't try and mock me.

BTW I ve had a few more look ups on qrz.com than your self

i bet your gonna bang that return button now !
