I never thought I'd ever do anything with 4m. But I heard someone on 6m going to 4m and thought, actually the 7300 has 4m, let's see what it is like.

I don't have a 4m aerial up, so I switched to the Avanti Astroplane which works on 6m and managed to get an OK station. Not sure the Astroplane is the best aerial for that frequency, but hey ho, it worked.

You took it down just before things pick up!

Lots of people seem to take 4M, and 6M, antennas down for the winter.
Never understood that.

HA6ZB 59+20, at the moment.

Cheers

bought an Icom specific Spectrum transverter from the Blackpool rally for a very good price, and got some hardware to revamp the 5ele 4m yagi, just need to get round to it, and get it in the air!
