Post Cushcraft r6000 for 10mtrs ?
Anyone here using the Cushcraft r6000 vertical ? Got one in the garage that was bought used / part dissembled and not sure if to give it a try or buy a dedicated 10mtr vertical ? So anyone here comment on his 10mtr performance ? Also looking at the build instructions all looks a bit complicated. Any advice ?

A dedicated 5/8 would work better.
The R6000 uses only the bottom part of the antenna on 10m.

It 28mhz is the goal a simple Antron99 or a sirio 2016 etc is the vertical to put up, the crushcraft will cover more of course but probably won't match a dedicated vertical.
The instruction or manual will be on the web site.

It's quite simple to build mines was built before I got mine second hand so rebuilt it via the manual as the measurements weren't good and works a treat at 10 feet off ground

As has been said, you can't beat a mono-band antenna for performance, and multi-band verticals will always be a compromise between convenience, and performance.

That said, I used an R7000 for two or three years, and was quite impressed with it, well made, and acceptable performance.

Okay cheers guys. you dont happen to have a picture off yours installed ? did think about ground mounting it but plenty space on the roof ! sorry you saying the supplied measurments are okay ? just using the ssb portions off each band.

Mine was 20ft above ground in a tree, surrounded by branches and leaves, and still worked very well.

5/8 from VP8 (Falkland Islands) with just 100W of ssb, on 17m.

Okay cheers with you now. As I say If you do have a pic off it in situ please do share. Some pics they look massive and others looks fairly neighbour friendly!
